The team of “Paralel – Silistra” is collaborating with organizations from Italy, Portugal, and Finland in the implementation of the project Youth4Democracy: #Act4Climate.
The project aims to empower marginalized young people to engage in democratic participation and climate action by strengthening their understanding of EU values: democracy, human rights, and sustainability. Through transnational cooperation, 20 youth trainers will be trained, and 200 marginalized young people locally and 400 online will be engaged, fostering leadership in climate initiatives.
On November 23 in Naples, during the Festival of Trees, the Italian partner ASNU organized a practical workshop on natural cosmetics at the Botanical Garden. Under the guidance of youth worker Serena, participants created affordable and sustainable products while learning more about responsible consumption and the connection between personal choices and environmental protection. The activity promoted conscious civic behavior and sustainable daily practices.
On November 29, 2025, the online digital workshop “YOUTH & AI: Technology, Creativity, and Inclusion” was held, jointly involving trainers and young people from Finland and Bulgaria. Students from the Silistra Branch of Ruse University, along with students from Finland, participated in the initiative. Participants developed practical skills for the intelligent use of ChatGPT, discussed the opportunities of artificial intelligence in education and the creative industries, and exchanged ideas on inclusive and responsible digital participation.
On December 5, young participants joined the workshop “Recycling: Family and Consumer Science – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” dedicated to the practical aspects of recycling and sustainable consumption. The training was led by young trainers Gergana and Dzherren, who enhanced their competences during the training in Naples in October 2025 and successfully passed on their knowledge to their peers.
Through these activities, the project reinforces its mission to support youth engagement, green skills, and digital literacy by creating space for learning, cooperation, and democratic participation.
