For the eighth consecutive year, the stadium in Karlovo, Bulgaria, once again became a place of friendship, smiles and shared generosity.
More than 150 French volunteers from Europ’Raid arrived in the town with 50 Peugeot 205 cars, carrying an impressive five tonnes of donations for the children of Karlovo.
The event brought together people from different countries and generations, united by a common belief in the power of volunteering, solidarity and community action.
The French volunteers were joined by local young people, Romanian volunteers from the European Youth Centre, children from the Sunday School of Kindness in the village of Kliment, representatives of the community centre in Vedrare, young people from the Centre for Family-Type Accommodation in Karlovo, and the town’s youth football team.
The gathering was much more than a stop on the Europ’Raid journey. It was an opportunity for young people from different countries and backgrounds to meet, communicate and celebrate the values that connect them.
🤝 Through their participation, the young people demonstrated that borders are no obstacle to friendship, cooperation and solidarity. Their example shows that when people come together around a good cause, they can create a meaningful impact in their communities.
Five tonnes of donations for local children
The donations brought by the Europ’Raid volunteers will soon find their way to children and young people across the municipality.
Local youth volunteers will help distribute the donated materials among educational and social institutions in Karlovo Municipality, ensuring that the support reaches those who can benefit from it most.
At the beginning of September, just before the new school year, special distribution days will also be organised in the courtyard of the Youth Information Centre – Karlovo. Children who wish to participate will have the opportunity to receive school supplies and educational materials.
Young people making a difference
The annual Europ’Raid visit is a wonderful example of how international volunteering can create lasting connections at a local level. It brings together people who may come from different countries and cultures but share the same desire to help others, support their communities and make a positive difference.
The eighth edition of this initiative in Karlovo once again showed that acts of kindness can cross borders — and that solidarity becomes even stronger when people choose to work together.
