On 19 and 20 September 2026, a practical training focused on digital presence, content creation, and the use of modern communication formats for civic causes was held in the town of Razlog.
The training was organized as part of the “A/B Activism” project, implemented by Forty-Two Foundation and the Association “International Initiatives for Cooperation” (IIC), with the financial support of the Swiss-Bulgarian Cooperation Programme, Civic Engagement and Transparency Mechanism (CETM) 2024–2029.
The main objective of the training was to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills for creating and presenting digital content – from developing an initial idea and preparing a script to recording, editing, and publishing content across various online channels.
During the two-day training, participants took part in several thematic modules focusing on digital presence and digital activism, digital communication planning, storytelling for civic causes, and podcasting as a tool for civil society organizations.
Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of creating audio and video content. Participants were introduced to the basic principles of working with smartphones, sound, framing, and lighting, and had the opportunity to practice presenting and conducting interviews in front of a camera and microphone.
The practical sessions included video recording in a mobile studio and with smartphones, as well as developing content suitable for various digital channels and platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and podcast platforms.
The training focused not only on technical skills but also on how civil society organizations and active citizens can communicate their causes, initiatives, and messages in a compelling and accessible way and reach wider audiences through digital media.
As a continuation of the practical work, participants will also have the opportunity to take part in individual mentoring sessions with the trainers, during which they will receive tailored guidance and practical advice on developing and creating their own podcasts and digital content.
