The team of Magna Silva Association recently held another special television program as part of the project “Life Without Fear”, implemented with the financial support of the Bulgarian Fund for Women under the “Strong” Programme.
The program was hosted by sociologist and project expert Nikolay Bliznakov, who guided viewers through two important discussions focused on equality, social attitudes, and the prevention of discrimination.
The first part of the program explored sexism in the public sphere, featuring political scientist and media expert Assoc. Prof. Ivo Indzhov. The discussion examined how language, advertising, and public communication contribute to the formation of stereotypes and prejudices, as well as the role of the media in fostering a more inclusive and respectful society.
The second part approached the topic from a scientific perspective. Together with biologist Hristo Nikolov, the conversation focused on the biological foundations of gender inequality, exploring the interaction between biology and culture and highlighting how scientific evidence challenges long-standing myths used to justify inequality.
Through initiatives like these, the “Life Without Fear” project continues to encourage informed public dialogue, shed light on hidden forms of discrimination and violence, and contribute to building a more just, safe, and equitable society for everyone.
