A delegation of eight representatives from the Municipality of Kolbudy, Poland, led by Deputy Mayor Robert Aszuk and Secretary Dariusz Czainski, visited the Municipality of Karlovo under an Erasmus project aimed at exploring opportunities for partnerships between the two municipalities. The Youth Information Center in Karlovo is a local project partner.
During an official meeting at the Municipality of Karlovo, hosted by Deputy Mayor Anton Minev, the Polish delegation became acquainted with the history and rich cultural and historical heritage of our region. In turn, they also presented their municipality and extended an invitation to the municipal leadership to attend the Days of Kolbudy in June.
The group also visited the city’s largest secondary school – “Vasil Levski” Secondary School – as a new secondary school is due to open in the town of Kolbudy with the support of the Bulgarian Consul in Gdańsk. The Polish partners wished to see how Bulgarian secondary schools operate. They visited specialized classrooms, the “Penka Nikolova” sports hall, and the school’s STEM center, and expressed readiness for future student exchange programs.
At the “Old Karlovo” Complex, the guests experienced traditional crafts and enjoyed coffee prepared on hot sand on the Revival-style veranda. The Polish group also enjoyed the beauty of our nature with a walk to the Suchurum Waterfall, discovering through the “Karlovo in Your Palm” map the city’s main landmarks and notable personalities.
As a local project partner, the Youth Information Center in Karlovo introduced the visitors to its numerous Erasmus+ projects and discussed future joint initiatives for the exchange of young people, teachers, and cultural figures. The Polish delegation also received seeds of Bulgarian flowers from the youth initiative “Colorful Mail.”
