Between October 17 and 20, 2025, the MAGNA SILVA Association will organize a three-day art residency in the unique complex of old houses in the mountain village of Svezhen.

A space for inspiration: artists, actors, musicians, and digital creators are invited to produce works on the theme: WOMEN – stereotypes, violence, equality.
The goal is to raise awareness, foster empathy, and spark dialogue. In creative working groups, participants will have the opportunity to collaborate and inspire one another.

Culmination:
The residency will conclude with a performance and exhibition presenting all works on November 25 – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The event will receive extensive media coverage.

The association covers the following expenses:
• Accommodation
• Meals
• Honoraria for those participating creatively

The venue:
The “Tankina House” mountain complex includes two separate houses sharing a common yard, each with four rooms. There is also a large living room with a fireplace and kitchen, as well as two courtyards with an artistic gazebo.

Svezhen Village – The Hidden Architectural Gem
• Location: Svezhen is situated in the Sarnena Sredna Gora mountain range, at an altitude of 750 m.
• Historical heritage: The tomb of the Bulgarian revolutionary Hadzhi Dimitar is located 2 km from the village.
• Unique architecture: The village preserves over 100 old houses that miraculously survived the mass burning of 1877. These houses are declared architectural and historical monuments, built entirely of wood and stone – without a single nail!
