In the period 10-16 February this year, Association “International Initiatives for Cooperation” (IIC) was the coordinator of an youth exchange “Youth Power”, which was implemented within the framework of the Erasmus Accreditation in the Youth sector of the IIC association.
The project brought together and provided an opportunity for the accumulation of new skills and knowledge of 22 young people from four European countries – Spain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria. During the seven working days the young people had the opportunity to understand the essence of youth empowerment, youth activism and to define various good practices from the recent past for successful forms of youth activism, which have led to significant positive changes in communities across Europe. Every day, step by step, the young people received new knowledge and made real plans for campaign activities, which in the role of youth leaders they will be able to organize in their communities. Several concept notes were created by the participants that will be further developed into project applications. Young people tackled urgent community and global problems that affect the well-being and the quality of life of people. In addition to time for learning, the young people also had time for fun and getting to know the culture and tradition of the region. It was an honor and a privilege for the IIC team to meet and work with these young people. We are also grateful to the “Erasmus+” programme for giving us this opportunity for so many years!
