On April 18th, colleagues from the association MAGNA SILVA took part in the solemn opening of the Late Antique building “Irini” and the celebration of the third anniversary of the Episcopal Basilica of Philipopol in the city of Plovdiv.
During the event, they also participated in a discussion in the Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis with representatives of the expert teams – researchers, archaeologists, restorers, architects, who participated in the large-scale project for research and exposure of the Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis. The fruit of their seven-year efforts, with the financial assistance of the America for Bulgaria Foundation and the Municipality of Plovdiv, is the “Basilica” – this modern visitor center and space for events and educational activities, amidst the magnificence of the late antique mosaics of Philippopolis, in which the association MAGNA SILVA organises and a large part of the “Bridge over Time” project activities.
The guests of the event showed great interest in the new historical and educational board game “The Battle of Philippopolis”, developed specifically for the purposes of the project “Bridge over Time” and even took pictures with its card-game board.
