A two-day training on the topic of “Active for the Development of Our Communities” took place in Silistra on October 3 and 4, 2023. It was part of the project BeActive, funded by Erasmus+ program. The event was organized in the format of an Innovation Camp. Twenty-four young people, from 6 schools in the district studied and discussed how to contribute to the development of their region through their personal economic and civic activities. They came up with ideas that take advantage of the natural and historical heritage to provide employment and preserve valuable resources for future generations.

The event organizers were the NGO “Parallel-Silistra”, which are members of the Bulgarian Network Anna Lindh Foundation and the BeActive project Leader in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Education Silistra and the Department “Education and Youth Activities” of the Municipality of Silistra. The Silistra Branch of Ruse University “A. Kanchev” hosted the event.

During the innovation camp, the participants’ teams got acquainted with the initiatives of the International Youth Campaign “16 Days of Activism” in Bulgaria, Spain, Italy and Portugal. They enjoyed the digital stories, posted on the WikiAcitive platform, the digital portfolio of the project partners, the BeActive booklet for shared practices and the BeActive toolkit posted on the project website and Facebook profile of the project.
