Organized by the Magna Silva Association as part of the project “Magna Silva Art Fest – A Platform for Amateur Art and Social Inclusion”, with the support of the National Culture Fund, the festival brought together children, local artists, residents and volunteers.

The first day began with an outdoor painting workshop in the picturesque Gerisha area, where, under the guidance of artist Tanyo Pavlov, ten amateur painters captured the autumn landscapes and panoramic views of the Sredna Gora and Balkan Mountains on their canvases.

On the second day, the Zlatyu Boyadzhiev Birth House in Brezovo was transformed into a creative workshop. Children and young people discovered the ancient art of Ebru under the guidance of Donika Koeva, creating colorful paintings on water.

The third day combined art with an environmental cause. With the help of artist Varvara Karnauh, the children created original masks inspired by endangered local animal species. Wearing their masks, participants joined an environmental awareness hike to the Ormanite area, sending a message about the protection of the local ecosystem. In Gerisha, children and adults arranged stones to form the large-scale message “WE PROTECT NATURE.” The day also featured practical drone photography training led by photographer Vladimir Berlizov, demonstrating how modern technology can be used in art and environmental advocacy.

The festival concluded with a day dedicated to traditional crafts, exhibitions and music. A pottery workshop led by Nikolina Andreeva gave children and adults the opportunity to experience the magic of clay. Four exhibitions were presented at the Zlatyu Boyadzhiev Birth House: the plein-air exhibition from Gerisha, the children’s environmental exhibition “We Protect the Earth,” a festival photography exhibition, and an exhibition by the “Little Artists” workshop, featuring works created by children from the region.

The festive finale was an open-air concert featuring the ethno group Omaya, the ethno formation Kemindzhidzhii, and the family quartet Shiriti, who performed Bulgarian and Balkan folk music.

With the support of volunteers, partner organizations and the hosts at the Zlatyu Boyadzhiev Birth House, the festival demonstrated how art, tradition and love for nature can bring a community together and transform creativity into a force for positive change.

You can find detailed information on our colleagues’ Facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/MAGNASILVA.ORG

Anna Lindh Foundation

For four days, the region of Brezovo and Bratya Daskalovi became a vibrant hub of art, creativity and environmental awareness.
