{"id":841,"date":"2026-02-23T14:40:58","date_gmt":"2026-02-23T14:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alfbg.net\/?p=841"},"modified":"2026-02-23T14:40:59","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T14:40:59","slug":"fake-or-real-democracy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alfbg.net\/index.php\/2026\/02\/23\/fake-or-real-democracy\/","title":{"rendered":"Fake or Real Democracy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For another consecutive year, the &#8220;Youth and Civil Initiatives in the Rose Valley&#8221; has sent a group of young people to its partners at the European Youth Center \u2013 Brne\u0161t, Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bulgarian group of 11 students from schools in Karlovo and Sopot, led by Mr. Emil Ivanov from the &#8220;General Vladimir Zaimov&#8221; Vocational High School &#8211; Sopot, took part in the project \u201cFake or Real Democracy\u201d from 14 to 22 February 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together with 40 peers from Romania, Spain, and Portugal, the Bulgarian participants:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>learned to distinguish fake news from real news, and fake democracy from genuine democracy;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>became familiar with European institutions as well as local and national decision-making bodies in the partner countries;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>explored direct democracy, active youth citizenship, and participation in decision-making processes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>enriched their cultural knowledge during special evenings dedicated to each partner country;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>enjoyed the snow, which was a special attraction not only for the participants from the Portuguese Azores and sunny Spain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the exchange, the group visited:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Parliament in Bucharest (the second largest administrative building in the world after the Pentagon), where they learned more about Romania\u2019s system of governance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the largest Youth Center in Bucharest, uniting 37 organizations working for young people in the Romanian capital;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Romanian capital itself, completing special group tasks to discover interesting places in the city center and learning about its history and culture in an interactive way;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pelesh Castle in Sinaia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was implemented by young people under the Erasum+ programme, which supports educational mobility, intercultural dialogue, and the personal development of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more details, follow the team\u2019s Facebook page: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mgirdrosevalley\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mgirdrosevalley<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">#AnnaLindhFoundation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For another consecutive year, the &#8220;Youth and Civil Initiatives in the Rose Valley&#8221; has sent a group of young people to its partners at the European Youth Center \u2013 Brne\u0161t, Romania.
